| - I had issues with my engine stalling and overheating, taking it there the first time was pretty simple, I dealt with Steve, he was kind, forthright and prompt. They found a few issues, charged me $475 in parts/labor and sent me on my merry way.
Fast forward a few weeks, my car is stalling and overheating again. I take it back to them Friday afternoon before Labor day weekend. I'm told that they'll take a look at it tonight but there's no guarantee that the issue would be fixed, no big deal, pretty much what I expected anyways.
What I DIDN'T expect was the complete lack of communication on their part. Tuesday rolls around and no calls or msgs telling me what's going on with my car. By Wednesday I've given them upwards of 15 calls and msgs with never being called back ONCE. After getting a hold of Ken he promptly apologized, told me they been unable to replicate the problem and said he'd give me a call regardless of what happens. That didn't happen Ken apparently had food poisoning and so NO ONE could call me back. By Friday still having NEVER been contacted by FNVW I've had enough and took my car back.
I wouldn't have cared if they had told me I'm screwed and that a whole grocery list of things had to be replaced and the parts would have to be shipped from Germany. The point is that I would KNOW and could make appropriate arrangements.
What ended up being wrong with my car is the fuse box on top of the car battery was melted. This was very easily visible and needed absolutely NO disassembly, this has apparently has been an ongoing issue with multiple VW models since the mid to late 90's, If you Google "fuse box on top of battery" nothing but VW issues pop up. If this is such a common and reoccurring issue why not just check?
$475 to not get the issue fixed, absolutely no attempt to communicate and without a car week when it could've been fixed in less than an hour with a $30 part. . . .
