HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. PARVO PUP.
We adopted a puppy and brought him home late Monday night and by Friday he was in the hospital diagnosed with Parvo. We originally started our little pup at Banfield Animal Hospital (Lake Mead Parkway location, you can read my review about that facility as well) and transferred him to Las Vegas Animal Emergency Hospital.
Between Banfield and Las Vegas Animal Emergency Hospital I feel as though they are running a racket! We were given a doom and gloom prognosis from Day 1. And I am happy to say that Leo will be home today!
But more distributing and frustrating than that was that we were stuck in between two vets that either had a HUGE miscommunication; or, are working together.
Overall experience/billing: We were told that when we arrived at Las Vegas Animal Emergency Hospital it would be a take pup in, drop him off scenario and that they had all of the paperwork needed. Not the case. Furthermore, the quoted price of less than $200 for the night somehow was re-quoted when we got there to be just under $600/one night.
Staff: The front desk receptionist was calm and nice. The "nurse" was not overly helpful! I was told that "I had brought the wrong medicines" and that our dog had received and been "given all the wrong medicines" that full day of treatment and then later corrected herself that they were the right medicines and that I just didn't bring one, but that it was okay because the Dr. from Banfield was bringing it over (which was also incorrect information).
It was helpful that they were available overnight because our pup needed care, but if I were to do it all over again (knowing what I know now) I would have NEVER taken Leo here and would have went a completely different route.
