  • 2nd UPDATE: I wanted to do a quick update again, now that it has been 9 months since my surgery. I decided to go to my eye doctor for follow-up treatment and ditch this place since they were no help. She referred me to a dry eye specialist and when I explained my story with this place, they were all shocked. LVI should have been running tests and giving me basic prescriptions but they weren't. My eye doctor and Dr. Mattie at Roholt Vision institute were able to reduce my dry eye drastically. LVI wouldn't even confirm I needed Restasis with my insurance, yet when I told my doctor, she confirmed it and got me refills within 3 days. Don't waste your time. Research LASIK and know the risks and that they do happen more often than not. I believe if I would've went elsewhere my issues could've been fixed much sooner instead of 8-9 months of misery and blurry vision (headaches!). UPDATE: I changed my rating from 3 stars to 1. I went back to find out the reason why I cannot see still. I had "debris" stuck in my eye from the surgery, and they said there is no way to remove it, that it must come out on its own. It has almost been 2 months and I still cannot see clearly. I have terrible headaches and it makes me feel sick sometimes. My vision is so inconsistent. It will be clear in the morning, and get blurrier as the day goes on, or vise versa. I also agree with the person who said they try to scam you. They advertise $299 per eye, but that is only for the weakest prescriptions. The surgeon basically sets everything up in the machine.. I do not know why it would just from $600 to over $4,000 total for a stronger (-3.00) prescription. I got LASIK done several weeks ago here. Everyone is very nice, especially Charity, the finance lady, and their optometrist, Dr. Mader. I found a good deal on Groupon and decided to purchase it to get the surgery here. I scheduled an evaluation, where they dilated my eyes and examined them for over an hour. I was happy with the level of detail they put into making sure I was a good candidate, which luckily I was. Surgery was very easy to schedule as well - only need to schedule 2-3 weeks in advance, if that. For the most part, I have been happy with the results. However, it has been over two weeks and one of my eyes is still very blurry, which is abnormal. I have followed all instructions and put the drops in as instructed. Right before going into surgery, I asked the surgeon how long on each eye it would take. I was told they were treating both eyes for the same prescription, so it was six seconds on each eye. However, my one eye was .50 stronger, so I was concerned. I told the surgeon and he reassured me this is what the doctor instructed was needed. Well two weeks later and I cannot see clearly out of that one eye... Why would they fix both eyes the same when one has a much stronger prescription?? I am thinking I will definitely need a second surgery in a few months to fix it again. This just makes the whole process inconvenient, especially since I will probably have to pay for the eye drops (cost over $130) and go to follow-up appointments all over again (there are 3 scheduled within your first 3 months after the surgery). I also was concerned with the high-volume amount of patients they see. When I got my LASIK, I was in and out of the operating room in 10 minutes. I went right after someone and then two other people were waiting to go after me. The surgeon looked at my eyes for maybe 30 seconds each, after the surgery, and told me I was good to go. It felt somewhat rushed. However, if this whole thing works out and I can see perfectly, it will be worth it. I only wish they would have fixed my eyes correctly the first time. I would recommend this place if you are getting a good deal, but would probably look elsewhere if not. I only paid $1,400 for LASIK on both eyes, which includes a year of updates, and it would have been over $4,000 if I did not have the Groupon deal. I would not have paid that much for this place. You can find lower prices (with more detailed, knowledgeable doctors/staff) elsewhere.
