  • I so wanted to love this place, but I did not really enjoy my experience here. But let me explain... First of all, this place just oozes class and manages to have impeccable, attentive service without straying into the stuffy type of service that makes you feel uncomfortable (see my review on Alexander's Steakhouse in San Francisco). We had nothing but gracious and wonderful service throughout our meal. I would give 5 stars for that. The food, however, was a disappointment to me. And a big part of that is just for personal reasons. I have trouble chewing due to a previous jaw surgery, and the vegetables here are cooked so lightly that they are still crunchy. While that might be great for someone who is looking for a vegetable so fresh that it tastes like it was just pulled from the ground, but I prefer things to be cooked just a little more tender so I can actually chew them. Even hubby found them too hard. The flavor was nice, but it needs a little more time on the stove IMO. Hubby's steak was good and cooked as he ordered it. I ordered the scallops. I was so disappointed at the flavor of the scallops. It arrived with about a half dozen scallops and I took a bite of the first one and it just tasted so fishy. Fishy doesn't even begin to describe it. It actually almost made me a little sick. Now, I've had this happen before where there has been a bad one in the bunch (and I don't fault the chef for this, I think it's just the luck of the draw of the harvest) and so I tried a little bite out of about four of them and only found one that tasted fresh and palatable, so I just ate that one. Unfortunately there was no hiding the fact that I didn't eat my dish, so our server asked about it and I had to admit I didn't like it. I wasn't expecting him to do anything because I don't think it had anything to do with how it was cooked, but he took it off the bill anyway. I thought that was so very nice. Overall I think that if you like crunchy vegetables and want to stick to steak, then you will probably love this place. It is also a lovely, quiet respite from the noise of the casino floor. You will forget where you are while dining at this place. So if that's what you're looking for, then I would recommend you try this place.
