This review is about the COFFEE HOUSE. Not the SALON. This is a problem here: Distilled comprises both a coffeehouse- and not an afterthought, "have a coffee while you wait for your chair" sort of coffeehouse. It's a high-end coffeehouse every bit as well-equipped as any of Calgary's many excellent coffeehouses, with industry-leading grinders and a La Marzocco Linea espresso machine. I loved my coffee: I ordered a cortado and had to walk them through it (a cortado is between a macchiato and a traditional cappuccino; a proper macchiato is about 2.5 oz, a proper cappuccino is never larger than 6 oz, and a cortado/Gibraltar/piccolo/noisette is around 4 oz) and even though he'd never made one, the barista did one perfectly- delightful. Beans are from Rosso and they do everything at Distilled to honour them. Bravo.
