| - Scam Artists!
Called in and got an appointment to get a quote for a broken spring. Two guys showed up, Matt and Sebastian, and brought them inside my home to see the damage. Main guy Matt immediately punches in some numbers in his tablet and comes up with a $550 plus quote. I'm like..."Whoa dude, the spring is like $70 bucks!". So he explains to me that they use "better" aftermarket springs with a 10 year warranty. I said, "Look guys, your quote is outrageous, so I'm good, thanks for the visit". So he says, "Well, let me see If I can get my manager to get us a discount", and boom, magically they knock out $200 dollars out of the quote, so now its $320 something out the door with the same materials. I told them, "That is still pretty steep, so I'm going to have to give it some thought", and the guys says "Well, were here now, we can wait". I told him straight up that I was feeling really pressured and didn't appreciate him being so pushy, and that I had to think about it so I would give them a call later. He was then very apologetic and said he was sorry. Then Matt said "Well, if you don't get it repaired, I'm going to have to charge you $55 for the service call". I told him that he was full of BS because the website said "Free Estimates" and then he said "Oh yes, the website...errh" and backed down. I welcomed them out of my house immediately, and after the fact, they remained in the front of the house for an extra 10 minutes talking to each other, maybe hoping I was going to succumb to the earlier pressure. They finally left thank God.
No thanks!
