Let me tell you a little story about my Frye boots. Years ago shopping at a vintage store in NYC my friend bought me a pair of gorgeous chestnut hue tall leather boots.
They absolutely insanely beauty makes up for their discomfort and wooden soles with no support.
After a few years of nasty wear and tear. These boots were looking rough. My friend recommended this shoe repair shop. After a week and $40.00 later, my boots looked better then they had when I got them! The entire soles were replaced with thick Carolina pine and the leather was polished. While I wouldn't pay 40 bucks to get many of my boots re-soled, this was well worth it.
I also know the shop with fix heels around $10-$20.
