I am not really a fan of shopping at Costco.. But since I have a membership, I deal with the frustration to score some great deals.
The parking lot is always crazy when I go, even on a weeknight evening an hour before closing. The lines to get gas are always long. The lines to check out are always long. The line for the snackbar is, you guessed it, always long.
While the employees are nice enough, the checkers seem to be oblivious to how long the lines are and tend to be slow. My experiences with the employees at the Membership counter have left a lot to be desired as well. I have had excellent customer service in the optical department. I wish all of the employees at Costco were as professional and efficient as the ladies that have helped me in that department.
Many of the people that shop at Costco are inconsiderate to their fellow shoppers. I have had people push me just so they could grab the last sample on a tray. I have had people stand in the middle of the aisle to converse with others, completely blocking access to the merchandise. I have had people blatantly try to cut in front of me to pay.
I know that it is Sam's Club that is owned by Walmart, not Costco... but shopping at Costco still reminds me a lot of shopping at Walmart: I know that nine times out of ten, I can save money if I go to Walmart, but I enjoy the shopping experience at Target more so I go there often and only go to Walmart occasionally. And that's precisely why I only go to Costco from time to time, the money I save there is rarely worth the frustration caused by shopping there.
