| - OK, I have been here a few times before and it it has always been good. Then again there isn't must skill needed to reheat meat and put it on a pita,
Something happened about 20 minutes ago that totally blew my mind. If you've never been there before, it is and open kitchen and you can see everything that goes on. I placed my to-go order and walked down to the end of the counter to wait for my food.
Here is the Reader's Digest version ......
Just then a kid that was clearing tables walked through the kitchen area, stopped by the cook and cook grabbed a half pita out of the basket and started eating it.
To be 100% honest, I really didn't think too much of it other than ... man that cook must be hungry.
A couple minutes later, the same kid walks thought the kitchen again, once again with baskets he cleared from a table. He stops by the cook again and this time the cook grabs a hand full of fries, the bus boy starts to walk away, the cook calls him back and he starts dipping the frys in a cup of ketchup that was in the basket.
The cook finished up the frys, wipes off his mouth with this hand, packages by my food and hands it to me.
At this point, I lost my appetite, I approached the counter and told the Owner what happened. He reply was .... he didn't have a problem with his employees eating the food that his Customer's didn't finish. I asked him if he understood what just happened and he said yes.
I asked for a refund and he said we would give me one in t minute. Just when I didn't think it could get any stranger .......... the bus boys goes in back behind the wall and comes out with 2 other people and they are staring me down from the other side of the counter. One of them asks me not to lean on the counter. I responded with something like "make me".
I get my credit receipt and walk out, turn around at the door or one last look and to make sure I am not being followed out by anyone. Two employees are flipping off and another one is waiving at me.
With the line of work I am in, I almost wish "the gang" would have confronted me, they wouldn't have known what happened until it was too late.
The Maricopia Health Department has already been called and an Inspector is on his way. Man, it's nice to know people in the right places.
Anyways ...................................... I've seen a couple other reviews about about Spices unclean practices and I wanted to share my experience.
Oh yea, I won't go back and enjoy your day.
