Many things that I disliked about this place. I only came to this place because I got a $50 gift card from a coworker for Christmas. So first of all, I'm from Toronto so this was the closest location to me (40mins away). It was out of the way to go to the actual store itself. SAIL does not have an online store. I was hoping to use the gift card online but because they do not have an online purchasing store like competitors: MEC, Sporting Life, Sports Chek etc. I was disappointed. When I entered the store, there were 4 associates who worked at SAIL who greeted with a hello. I do not think it was necessary for four of them to stand there when they should be walking around the store to actually assist the customers shopping. I was looking for base layers but it seemed the store did not carry my size. They did when I asked them to look it up on their computer. I had to actually hunt down a sales associate to get the right size. She then told me that they do carry two in the store but she could not find it. The same sort of thing happened when shopping at a different outdoors store but they did everything they could to actually help me and actually retrieved the correct size I was looking for, which was great. I cannot say the same for SAIL. Some of the sales associates are rude and do not care to help you find a product that you are going to pay for. I dunno, I thought that's a basic sales associate's job criteria to be friendly and actually cater the client needs. I was very very disappointed with how slow they work in this store and the amount of people who work here pretending to be busy doing something but in reality I think they should all be fired for being shitty sales associates. SAIL does NOT have deals/sales and everything is very expensive. I did use up my gift card and paid an extra amount of money. I feel okay with my purchases as it is a necessity for those cold days to have base layers but I will probably never shop at SAIL ever again because of the whole experience. There are way better stores in Toronto that I'd take my business. Sure SAIL is a big store full of a lot of inventory but things made in China aren't justifiable for the prices and the people who work here are a disgrace.
