| - It's not what should be expected when paying the prices that are charged.
When I moved in, a bonus was that it was a brand new property, now it's falling down and apart (cheap construction?). The residents are discourteous (loud music, don't pick up their dogs' feces, throw trash everywhere, their kids are often running around unsupervised, etc.) , visitors and/or people with multiple cars take up parking spaces without a decal, loud people in the pool/hot tub/workout rooms at all times of night, etc. and management does NOTHING. Any complaints are written down in a SPIRAL NOTEBOOK and from what I can tell are never followed-up on with any recourse to those that break leasing rules.
I have been thoroughly disappointed by my residency here and have chosen to look elsewhere. I am counting down until my lease is up. In my research, I have found that the majority of properties in the area at or above AC's standard have rental rates at least a 100.00 LESS than they are still charging at AC! I am moving into a complex (approx. same age, quiet neighborhood, much more convenient highway access, positive online reviews ;) within a few miles and getting TWO BEDROOMS for the price I am currently being charged for ONE.
When I made the request to have my rental rate reviewed due to the competing market, of course, AC said no. It makes NO SENSE for me stay somewhere that is not even a pleasant place to live while being charged more than I have to be. This is the THIRD year in which there has been no decrease in my rent, therefore, it is probably safe to assume that AC does not care about loyalty AT ALL. They provide NO INCENTIVES to their residents. There is no wonder you often see "failure to pay rent" notices on doors (again, indicating the types of residents AC may have routinely). It is unfortunate because nobody LIKES to move if they don't have to, but at this point in time management does not make it worth it to stay.
