I have been going to Seamus for YEARS. Loved it for the entire time that there was nothing else to do downtown, loved it just the same after lots of stuff opened downtown. But I believe I've seen the beginning of the end of the world.
I ordered an Irish Coffee. I got coffee with Bailey's Irish Cream. I ask the server, she says that IS an Irish coffee, and that the bartender thinks so too. I say, no, an Irish Coffee is Irish whiskey in coffee with a little cream floated on top (and back in the day at Seamus, a little creme de menthe drizzled on). She says she's never heard of such a thing but they could make me one "if I wanted it that way."
(May I also say that, prior to the Irish coffee incident, she told me that my Black and Tan was actually called a "Half and Half" at Seamus's. Really? REALLY??)
Call this petty if you want to, but this is serious stuff...
