  • So, I'm at the gym two days ago and I lose my belly ring which I have had for about 20 years. Although originally from Akron, I'm in town on business and am not familiar with the area where I'm working. I feel completely incomplete without the belly ring, so I ask someone where I can go (close) to get a replacement on my lunch hour. They recommend Smokin' Tattooz. So, I get there and there is a parking spot directly out front with 57 minutes left on the meter. SCORE! I go in and ask for a 12g curved barbell (same as what I have had for 20 years.) Oddly enough, this is a strange request these days because the norm is 14g. Must insert here... I am in clothes which are completely opposite of downtown Kent tattoo shop chic. Dress, heels, business professional. I was a little out of place. BUT, the guy didn't judge or question... he just went and found a 14g bar and put two larger balls on the ends to make it 'feel' like my old one. Perfect. I asked "how much?" He told me it was on the house. I tried to insist and he insisted that it wasn't any trouble. Therefore, I Yelp. Thanks, Smokin' Tattooz Guy!
