was enticed by the low rates( however, once you add the ridiculous resort fee, the rate is not that low) and 25.00 food credit. I checked in online so I was really surprised to see a huge line to use the "self-service" machines. It was 3:55pm and I observed numerous people in line receive the message " Your room is not ready yet". Seriously, 5 min before check in? Strike 1. It took me a good 10 min to use the machine, so I didn't have that issue. My room( 3rd floor) was ready. The carpet was ripped and old. The bed had a dip in the center. The a/c said 68F, no way was it that cool. I always bring a box fan with me( we drive from LA) and that helped. The mountain view, is really a view of the roof.
The casino is sooooo smokey. Beyond bad. The pool was dirty and the adult pool did not open until 11am. I tried to use my 25.00 food credit and I was told that I could not use it at the pool. I also did not have an ID with me so I was not allowed to charge to the room( even if I could have used the credit). I had to go back up to the room and get my ID and spend 30 min on the phone with guest services, trying to get the credit straightened out. The first person I spoke to told me I could use it. I asked for a manager and she said I could. The server at the pool was not a nice woman( I'll leave it at that). She was b**chy and rude. I skipped her and went straight to the pool "snack bar" restaurant. There were at least 20 people in line to order and ONE "cook" working. He was in SLOMO too. Holy crap. It was ridiculous. When I returned to the pool, I was asked to show my room key. I guess they don't trust anyone. What does that tell you. I usually stay at the Tropicana and have never been asked for an ID at the pool. This was not an enjoyable experience and I won't be back.
