Blackbird is a two-mile walk from my house. Four-mile round trip equals calories burned equivalent to an almond croissant, blueberry cornbread muffin and a latte - don't know if that's true but I tell myself that it is. Anyway, I usually drive there. Everything here is perfect -- the flakiness, the friendliness - the former referring to the croissants and the latter referring to the service. And I love watching the little birds who built their nests into the brick building. They hop around picking up little strings of yarn for their nests dropped by people from the yarn shop next door.
