Well first mistake I showed myself to be desperate. Told them my car was overheating and I needed to drive Thirty miles back home from work. Tried Walts and tried Goodyear no one had an opening that day midas could so I took it there. all I wanted was a thermostat they said the thermostat housing was broken the water coolant container was leaking and it needed a belt also plus they asked me if I wanted diagnostics test and I said yeah you might as well so anyway I'm glad to have the work done and I go to get the bill and it's $600 !!!. I about flipped. Sign on the wall said labor $98 hr. But they charged labor by the job n said they go by the book. The coolant reservoir was $139. I later researched at less than half that price some as low as $30. I told him I am going to call and compare these numbers around and call Automotive Repair and BBB. He said all Midas shops charge differently. I asked for all my used parts back to examine them (I don't know what I am looking for! ) . bottom line, I went in for a $25 thermostat and left with a bill bigger than my weekly net pay. Totally fn fuming
