| - Yay, this place opened today. The owners, Kirk and Tracy, were friendly and welcoming and seemed pretty calm for the first day, 90 minutes after opening.
I had a cortado which was very good, and ON THE MENU. I didn't have to explain it! That's a good sign. They get their beans from Te Aro, so that adds some credibility.
The space is very nice, if not a bit sparse at this point. I believe they are going to use their walls to display local artists. Cool retro lighting and a wooden communal table highlight the digs.
I only got a quick look at the pastries, but didn't have a chance to ask about them. Anyway, it's only day one...as they settle in a bit, I'll probably post an update. I anticipate being a regular, as it's a 10-minute walk from home.
