  • Oh Montreal... if this is one of your best pho places we feel for you. Would have expected way better given the French connection and Vietnam. We thought that this being close to University of Montreal would make it a good cheap eats. It didn't really score on either account. Maybe it was an off day but seems like there were a number of Yelpers with wildly different opinions so it may be the luck of the draw. For us, the Pho was average at best. The broth was weak and heavily msg'ed. The beef was lacking flavour and seemed to be a cheaper cut of meat. The tripe was a bit chewy. The pork chop with vermicelli was sub-par and veggies with it looked a bit raged. Hopefully there are better Vietnamese restaurants in Montreal. Probably one of the more forgettable dining experiences on our trip. Yelp and Google are getting so frustrating to determine if you are getting the straight goods or not on the ratings. This is definitely not a 4 starfor when we attended.
