Haw can you not have a great time with an open bar?!? Watermelon mojito - thumbs way up! What an awesome event! I really loved the venue -it was really big, airy and beautiful. They have an awesome covered porch area with a cool indoor/outdoor fireplace which I could see myself enjoying in cooler months.
The food was fantastic - every single thing I put in my mouth was delicious! My favorites might've been the BLT crostini and the prime rib sliders which were not only almost too pretty to eat (decorated with edible flowers from their backyard garden) but bursting with flavor (from herbs also from the garden). The zucchini on the heirloom tomato flatbread was freshly picked that morning and was so good! I love how they support local businesses - all the delicious cheese on that huge cheese platter was all local (emerald valley , clover creek cheese cellars, and hidden hills dairy)!
I can't say enough about how wonderful and welcoming the staff was and I really enjoyed hearing their philosophy on food from the GM and the executive chef. The chef also gave us a tour of the gardens and you could sense how passionate he was about his food which showed in both presentation and taste! Grow pgh (who they partner with) was there too and was great to learn from them too plus BONUS we got a pretty petunia to take home and plant.
Wonderful event - thanks Rachel and The Porch for a truly funday Sunday :-). I'll be back for sure with friends!!!
