Well I have never been to a real jewish deli so I have nothing to compare this place too but being the fat man that I am, I do always appreciate an establishment that has large portions.
Went here for lunch on a weekday and it was packed so we waited about 15 minutes.
The tables are pretty small and I was rubbin elbows with the folks next to me but I was hungry so it wasn't a big deal.
I ordered the Woody Allen sandwich and If I remember correctly it has 1 pound of pastrami and 1 pound of corned beef.
Got a few pickles and some fries on the side, that was good as well.
Now back to the sandwich. It was f-ing huge. I can count on one hand how many plates of food that were stuck in front of me that I didn't lick clean and this was one of those times. This behemoth of a sandwich I was unable to finish. I ate the first 1/2 pretty quickly but only got about 1/2 way through the 2nd 1/2. With a quarter of the sandwich left I stood defeated and with that much greasy meat I can assure you I was not feeling so great afterwards.
My suggestion if you want to get your moneys worth here is to order the woody allen, eat till your full, get a togo bag with the rest of the meat then buy a loaf of rye bread and some mustard. You'll have enough meat left to make 5-10 sandwiches.
All in all I thought the meal was good and I'm always up for a good challenge which is what happened here as I left the restaurant defeated!
