| - Came in on a Friday at 6:30pm
I'm giving this place a 4 star based on hopeful changes. This place is new to the area and has definitely drawn some attention because of that. We needed something new around here to shake things up a bit.
Firstly, atmosphere. It has a cool, new and modern sports bar look to it. Nice floors, wood panels on the walls, big open windows for nice air flow and an accessible bar. They have some arcade type games in the back which is nice for added fun.
The problem I have with the atmosphere is that they have a dj and music on level 10... As if we are in old town scottsdale. This is North Phoenix, there is a much different demographic out this way. The music variety was all over the place (I won't call that good or bad... I'm indifferent about that, I have a large span of musical taste) but when it is sooooo loud you can't have a conversation, or order without leaning in real close (awkward...) that can be a off putting.
There was a good mix of people, from early 20's to late 60's. This is great (I'm 27)! I imagine this will change slightly and settle in a bit more once they figure out what they want to attract. Based on the DJ and intensely loud music, I'm thinking it will end up being the 18-early 20 year olds that live in this area. OR if it stays this way it could end up being the people in there 40's who still want to party like they are in there 20's... because realistically, the people in their 20's who want to party like that, will go up to Scottsdale where they can barhop and have the whole scene of that.
I really think, if they want to maintain the most variety of clients in this area they need to turn the music down to a level we can interact and chat. Save the DJ for later in the evenings... after like 9:30-10:00. Cater to that audience when they are actually looking to party...
This area doesn't really have the need for this intensity.
Food: Good variety of food and a lot of drink options (beer, cocktails and wine)
I ordered the Elvis Presley a signature item and then some cajun style sweet potato fries. The Elves Presley was awesome! Loved it, could have had more bacon... ha! But I won't hold that against them. The fries... were good, but they gave me salt and pepper not cajun. No biggie though, still tasted good.
Girlfriend got BBQ wings and Beer Battered Fries. I tried both, the wings were pretty good, but I'm not a big fan of BBQ on wings. BBQ sauce was good though. Fries, maybe a little less than hot. Still good though and I bet that was a fluke. GF said she liked the wings but not really into that type of BBQ Sauce. Willing to try another flavor. Same thoughts about the fries, good, kinda cold.
Our friends got the same fries and a Tequila Lime Chicken, said the sandwich was great! Same thoughts on fries..
Since the place is new to the area, we all talked about our thoughts on it and pretty much were in agreement. Ages 27(me), 24(GF), 27 (friend), 29 (friend).
Ultimately, we will come back in hopes they take the music and desire to be Scottsdale down several notches. We need a place that looks and feels like this out here... but really not the music level and DJ. Until it is later at night, when the drinks are going and ready to party.
As I said, I like the menu... lots of drink options!! Good variety of food as well.
But!! If the music stays so loud that I can't converse, laugh and enjoy my time with the people around me... then I'll just go a 1/4 mile up the road to Half Moon. They have great wings and a decent food selection.
