Meat & Potatoes is one of my favorite Pittsburgh restaurants. It's exciting to see more restaurants like this opening up around the city. It's quite the hipster scene, but the atmosphere is excellent so is the decor.
I've never had a bad meal or experience here. The duck liver pate is usually something I always order. I expected it to be gamey at first, but to my pleasant surprise it was not. The are mussel are great though I've only tried their curry variation. Pro tip - ask for extra toast/bread for the pate & mussels when you get it since they toast them to order. The duck I've had only once but it was well cooked and the texture was perfect. The devils on horseback were a bit too sweet for my taste so I did not care for them much. I'm still working my way through the whole menu, but I haven't had a true complaint about any of their dishes yet.
I've had a few and they're all exceptional, but the Southie is by far one favorite cocktails here. The bartenders do what they do well and they're all very friendly and accommodating.
