  • Had brought my car in for tire rotation and balance around 10 am as the tires were purchased here with lifetime service. I was told wait was about an hour and half so made appt at 3. Came back in at 2:53pm. I had a conversation with the manager Donnie and explained that the car I was bringing in should not have the lug nuts over tightened it only takes 50 ft lbs, 55lbs at most. The other guy working st the counter, Cody agreed with me and said "yah those car's only get 50." Fast forward about 30 minutes, they got everything done pretty quickly which was nice, since I am disabled and have a lot difficult time with any sitting or prolonged standing. I took the vehicle on the freeway coming home and went to stop and the whole front it vibrated like it was about to come apart. I made it home thankfully. Upon checking the lugs with my calibrated torque wrench, every single lug was over tightened to 75 ft lbs and had to be loosened and retightened to spec which presents a problem for me physically. I guess the saying is true, if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. These cars are known to be susceptible to sheared off wheel studs from ovetightening or at the very least, can quickly warp the brake rotors which this may have already done. I called back in the next morning and Donnie answered the phone. I asked to speak to a manager. He replied, "I am a manager". I proceeded to tell him what happened, he didn't seem to be too concerned with the potential safety issue caused due to negligence. "We always follow a set procedure. I have 50 on the paperwork" he said. To that, I said "Well it wasn't folowed this time" and hung up. I've always had good luck and excellent service with Discount, but I will not be visiting this location again. I'm sure it was a mistake, but I went out of my way to alert them to the special torque setting and they disregarded it with the possibility of causing a wreck if it had sheared the studs and a wheel came off or at the very least, damage to my vehicle. Corporate needs to come down and figure out why this store can't match the others in service and professionalism. I've known Cody for a few years, he's a good guy and the guy that drove the car to the front, Josh, was very courteous. But I'm giving only 1 star because my specific instructions were disregarded and Donnie acted very cavalier and irresponsible about the whole thing when I called before I posted this review.
