| - I'm going to confirm that what everyone has said here is 100% accurate.
Equipment: Plenty of cardio equipment. 2 sets of dumbbells up to 50lbs - 1 set from 50-75lbs. The lack of dumbbells above 50lbs was a little frustrating at first but no one at this gym really uses more than 45lbs so it isn't a problem. There are no free ranging squat racks (only 3 guided squat racks)- also frustrating.
Staff: Nice people who seem to enjoy their work. I haven't worked with the personal trainers but they seem nice as well.
Capacity: You probably wont find a gym with the amount of available equipment during peak hours (5-7pm)
Membership Dues: Youfit has a great cost structure from a business perspective. Though, this can be very frustrating from a customer's perspective.
Rates are 10$/month this monthly fee increases to 15$ after a few months. There are also upfront fees, annual fees and membership cancellation fees, etc.
or you can buy the 20$/month which provides the following perks:
1. The monthly price won't go up after a few months like the 10$ membership.
2. You get 50% of some drinks up front
3. You can bring up to 2 friends each visit for free. (Yes, you could buy one membership for one household if you all work out at the same time).
4. you can workout at any Youfit gym in Phoenix
The costs seam very reasonable until you consider that you are required to set up automatic payments (THIS IS WHERE THEY GET YOU). Youfit outsources its payment services so if you have a problem, get ready for one hell of a battle.
Why would you have a problem you ask? Youfit is a relatively new gym franchise. Their low monthly membership rates are designed to attract as many members as possible before they likely increase the fees(also, they will likely fail to adequately explain all of the various fees when you sign up - happened to me). But by this time, there won't be much you'll be able to do. I suggest you read the previous posts regarding the difficulty of getting out of these payments and the inability of anyone at the actual gym to help you. The big benefit to Youfit of outsourcing the management of its customer's automatic payments is that when there's a problem, everyone at the gym can play dumb - because they truly have no clue and can't help you. If you don't exit your membership properly, you're going to get burnt.
In addition, you need to consider the up-front fees, annual fees, and cancellation fees. There are so many fees they will likely fail to mention one of them to you when you sign up. Be leery of the big binders they use to show you the memberships, all you're going to see is $10.99 and $19.99.
In summary, the gym is nice because its new and there's plenty of available equipment even during peak hours. If you can alter your work out avoid using any dumbbells above 75lbs and can get comfortable with a guided squat rack, this is a great gym. However, I caution anyone planning to join this gym because it is cheap. Once you compare all of the additional fees, coupled with the outsourced payment services, there's very little value left for the customer.
