This place is quite close to where I live and I would love for this to have worked out. Here is why not.
I came here to get organic chicken among other things but found that their shelf was empty. NOT ONE PIECE OF CHICKEN was available. For that matter - the poultry and meat section is not only small but there is hardly any product. Which store manager would allow this to happen?
Also, they have the strange practice of not having grocery bags. You are supposed to bring your own bags. How silly is this? I understand that if you are like a Costco - with low price theme - you would do this but Natural Grocers is not a low-price shop. It is in-between regular grocery stores and upscale stores like Whole Foods. If you are doing it for environmental reason - then put a price on grocery bags to encourage shoppers to bring their own bags.
Customer service is great - I like the idea that they are keying their loyalty program off of your phone number (and not need to carry a piece of plastic) - but they definitely need to significantly expand their poultry and meat section. Talking of poultry and meat - it occurs to me - I don't believe they stock any seafood at all! Strange!
