Slow service and no excuses on June 17th, 2012... Canadian Tire doesn't make it easy to redeem the Cdn Tire money!
I wasted over 26 minutes of my time... waiting for management to come to the cash register to 'override' the use of $24.40 in Canadian Tire money.
The cashier didn't have the authority to accept that much money.... and she lacked any focus on serving the customer (me)... it was at my suggestion she called a 2nd time... when i saw NO results... no one coming to approve this simple override.
I walked to customer service, spoke to the store manager, Kesy, and he finally came to handle the situation.
If I had been redeeming hundreds of dollars... then maybe there should have a process such as this... Canadian Tire Corporate needs to realize they need to change their bureaucratic process.
Local stores should staff the store with more than 1 person who can override those who are redeeming the amounts.... unless there was another person or two... surely they weren't on break for that length period?!?
The cashier should have told me what the amount the maximum amount that she was empowered to accept... and i could have split my $100+ purchase in two... and alleviated the situation.
As my mom used to say... "brains & trains" when the good Lord was giving them out...need I saw more?
