| - So; my background. I started doing Bikram Yoga 12 years ago when the major studio was on Sahara and Highland. Why do I start with my background: because in all those years I've never had any issue with any Bikram yoga instructor.
See, Bikram Yoga is supposed to be positive and hard to do but easy for the soul. Every other Bikram yoga instructor from Patrice to Vlad have been so inspiring and wonderful; however Michael Cooper has been the one exception. His nastiness and crazy behavior has led two students (myself and my sig. Other) out of this studio permanently, which truly breaks my heart because this studios location and hours are truly which one Id want to go to.
I don't know why he thinks he can talk to people the way he does; or tell people's girlfriends after they leave "he needs to man up" in front of other Bikram students?? This was so unprofessional my girlfriend never came back to the studio. At first I was enraged, why would anyone, professional, talk negatively publicly about someone to anyone else. Afterwards, I realized this was actually great news, see I'm a fighter and I have a hard time finding sparring. "Manning up" to me is a form of a challenge to go fight. Hence, after the initial shock, I realized maybe Mr. Cooper would like to spar with me. I gave him a thank you letter and wrote in the card when and where I spar at in an attempt to further his dialogue. I took pictures of what I wrote in the card so that Mr. Cooper who I witnessed to be a dramatic prima Donna (recently his claims in studio where his muscular brother wouldn't have had a heart ailment if he had done yoga; a dubious claim that lends itself to his dramatic view of importance he has of himself.) couldn't dramatize the letter. At any rate, I included my telephone number, email, and told him he'd be more then welcome to text or email me anytime.
Fine; if he didn't like the card, after his unprofessionalism, he'd or this studio would have every right to text or email me I'm not allowed in his class any longer and either refund my money or let me go to class when all the other amazing teachers are teaching. This would've ended the whole situation and not resulted in this write up.
However, what does this studio do? Not say a word, wait until I show up to take the class at 5:30am and tell me then, I can't take this class? That I paid for? That I have unlimited? Where I wasn't talking bad about Mr. Cooper to anyone or disparaging him to any students publicly, I never argued with Mr. Cooper or any instructor.
I'm writing this because I do own my own business and I have numerous friends who do as well and I'm writing this to remind myself and my friends that you can have a perfect business, clients want to go to, and an employee can lose $200 a month revenue (what I paid for my gf and I monthly unlimited at westside Bikram before it shut down) for a business. Also, after this I will file a complaint with Better Business Bureau and Facebook and any other social media site simply telling the truth and rating this absolutely perfect business, in all other aspects, but Michael Cooper the lowest possible ratings.
