I'm pretty convinced that this is as good as it gets in Toronto if you are in the market for Western European style bread.
Dimpflmeier now supplies many of your favourite chain supermarkets, but allow yourself a visit to the mothership and you will be happier in more ways than logic would allow.
To begin, the bakery offers more variety than any I have been to (and that's saying a lot). You can find everything from "Hunter Style Rye Bread" to "Viking Bread" all under one roof. Chances are also that your favourite loaf will still be steaming the new packaging and will cost you less than the stale-ass bread offered at the aforementioned favourite chain supermarket (I'm using favourite a lot in this review, bear with me!)
Importantly, Dimpflmeier mothership bakery also offers an astounding variety of sweets ranging from possibly the best donuts in town, to marzipan strudels! If that's not enough, there is a reasonably large seating area for those times you just can't wait to get home or in case you want to have some coffee and cake while looking out the window and enjoying the scenic Advance Rd. (disclaimer: Advance Rd. may not appear scenic to all patrons).
While I absolutely love this place, two small issues bump Dimpfle down to a 4* experience for me. The first one is that parking is painful unless you arrive at a random time. However since the bakery is in the middle of nowhere, as far as I'm concerned, it should not be too difficult to find parking somewhere on the street. The second and more serious issue is that not all varieties of breads and sweets are tasty/well made and sometimes you feel whoever was making the batch of blueberry strudel that day did a half assed job! Overall the good outweighs the bad by a lot! Dimpflmeier is a win
