If there was any star lower than 1, I would give it to Sears Vacation.
Let me tell you this, I booked our Cruise vacation in January using Sears Vacation. The process went on smoothly, but in March when I received an email from Sears Vacation stating that my cruise line just cancelled our cruise 15 days ahead of our departure date all hell broke loose.
I panicked and I called them on March 20th, 2016 (the day I received the email), they said that I could re book on another cruise sailing on April 1st, 2016 from the same port. I was told I will be getting a refund of ($384.90) over the phone. So, I thought we could use this money to cover for our change in airfare and to stay in a hotel for a day after our cruise as we could not find a return flight back home on the disembarkation day.
I called Sears Vacation again after few hours the same day and rebooked this other cruise. I also confirmed the refund amount and asked them to send me a written copy for future reference. I got 3 separate emails from 3 different people from 03/20/2016-03/23/2016 stating my refund amount is $384.90. They also told me that I will be getting the refund back anywhere from 2 business days to 14 business days.
I called them again on April 1st, the day of our cruise to follow up on the refund amount. They said they are still working on it.
I called them again on April 11th about the refund, this is when I was told that the cruise line was only paying me $103.29. I told them that I am supposed to get $384.90 as per there emails. They said to give them couple more days and they will be working on it. Since then I have been giving them a call every 2-3 days to follow up on my remaining refund amount. I was given the same exact answer every time I called.
I finally gave up on them and wrote to Royal Caribbeans CEO and President. I got an email from them that they are looking into this matter and will follow up with a phone call. This was on June 24th.
I got a call from Sears Vacation today (June 30th) stating that my refund is only $103.29 and that there agents made a mistake. They sent me my revised cruise fare (dated April 1st, 2016) that shows a refund of $103.29 on June 30th ( 2 months after my cruise). I told them that I should have received this before my cruise and not 2 months after my cruise. The agent told me very rudely that they do not call people to inform them of there cruise fare. I called them till the day of my cruise to check my refund amount and every time I called them I was told the same thing. How am I supposed to know that they would change the refund amount? I can understand if 1 agent makes a mistake, how can 3 different people make the same mistake?
I am on phone with them holding to talk to a supervisor.Its been 1hr , 36 min. I am typing this while I am on hold. This is how Sears Vacation treats their customer after getting the monies.
I just wished I never booked my vacation with them. There has been nothing but hassle to get my monies back.
