  • Location, location, location. If you are visiting Cleveland to do the town, this is the place to stay. You are surrounded by restaurants, bars, clubs, attractions, literally scores of places to go in a very short walk in all directions. Not sure what makes this a Holiday Inn "Express" because it is a quality high-end hotel, what you would expect in a part of the city like this. Doormen, bellmen, valets all over the place, always a crisply-uniformed employee greeting you, asking how you are doing, very eager and on the spot to render assistance. It was in fact the most competitive price I found in the area, and it was certainly swanky enough for me. It had the feel of a much more expensive hotel! Huge rooms. Hardwood floors felt very clean and good to my bare feet. I was afraid that the place would be noisy when you had your shoes on, but not at all the case. There were four elevators in the front bank and they were nice 'n FAST. Very good free breakfast, eggs, meat, biscuits, fruit, along with the continental stuff. You can take it to go with no hassles. Extra bonus for Monday thru Thursday night guests... Quality hot snacks at a manager's reception in the early evening plus two free drinks (beer or wine) per guest, per night! Pool table, plus a neat game room including two pinball machines! Open all night for us big kids. Comfort alert! The shower had wonderful, strong water pressure! I mean, excellent. Isn't that (or the lack of it) almost always a major gripe at any hotel? Not here. Also, the bed was remarkably comfortable. At the risk of sounding like Goldilocks, it was not too soft, not too firm, just exactly right. Two pillows per head provided, get this: the pillowcases embroidered with "Soft" on one and "Firm" on the other, so you get to choose your preference. We got very good solid sleep here, no disturbances nor excessive noise and such comfy bed and pillows. The lacks? Neither fan nor heat lamp in the bathroom. Finding our keys deactivated after our first of two nights. No micro/fridge. Not too much to complain about. Would definitely stay here again.
