| - My husband stopped and picked up pastries for a treat. He bought a lady lock, bread pudding, and a cream puff. The cream puff was a typical size, dusted in powdered sugar with filling. Now, I couldn't tell you what exactly that filling was, because it was dry and rubbery. I'm not joking, it was chewy and gross, most likely because it was exposed to air since the cream puff was open. Even the toddler wouldn't eat it--and the toddler eats everything. The filling in the lady lock was reminiscent of grocery store bakery whipped cream icing--thick, odd flavor and sweet. It just wasn't for me, as I enjoy a good buttercream filling. The bread pudding was a hefty pie-sized pieced and smelled of cinnamon and perhaps nutmeg. Heated it was delicious--smooth, not too sweet and spiced well. More raisins and this would have been perfect. The pictures on here look lovely, and the reviews wonderful, so we'll definitely try it again. But, I was disappointed by our first experience, considering the bread pudding was the only thing we actually finished.
