  • I came to SimonMed at Spectrum for an ultrasound of my kidneys, and arrived at about 10 in the morning. Front desk asked if I had an appointment? I said no I was just referred to them by urgent care, and didn't realize I needed one. So he said they would work me in, probably in about 30 minutes. He also said I would need a full bladder for the ultrasound, so drink lots of water. Two hours later I was still not seen and my bladder was so full it was painful. Every time I heard another name called I wanted to cry. Finally I went back to the front desk and spoke to the girl this time. I must have looked miserable because I told her I had to pee so bad! She said I could let some out in the bathroom and that my name was next. I did go release some urine in their toilet three times because more people kept getting called who were not me. I went back to speak with the girl to ask if I was still next. She went to check and said yes but what must be happening is that the techs are taking the names of people with appointments and skipping mine. She asked her manager and convinced her to write a note saying I could be next. The next time a tech came to pick up a folder I saw they did not get mine but the girl at the front called out and explained the situation so I could go. At last I got my ultrasound 2.5 hours after arriving and cried in joy when she said I could pee at last! The staff is fine but this experience felt unnecessarily traumatic.
