| - The Good:
- Friendly, all-women's gym. Welcoming atmosphere--everyone is really nice. I guess that's what you get with a smaller gym. I have never experienced any upselling you normally get at gyms, which is great, because I just want to work out.
- Variety of fun classes that challenge you. Great, knowledgeable instructors. I recommend Gill, who seems to be one of the most popular instructors anyways, as her classes are always packed. There are always 2 classes running at the same time as they have 2 studios. There's something for everyone, and yes, they have pole dancing.
- Accessible location--a short walk from St. Andrew station or a quick streetcar ride across King.
- Value. I bought a punchcard during one of their promotions (I believe it was 24 classes for $300) and have been using it to try out different classes and keep myself active. The card doesn't expire, which is great too because you can use it at your own pace. I find gyms boring, so keeping my physical activity exclusively in the realm of classes has encouraged me to stay engaged and fit.
- They have pop-up sales and social events at the gym--I've never gone but it's nice to have the option.
- They have weekly workshops that are super fun. These are 2 hours long and cost extra!
- You can schedule classes online (even make a standing reservation for a class you attend regularly), ensuring you have a spot when you arrive.
- The girls at reception are always really nice.
The Bad:
- It's a small gym, so if you don't like crowded classes or a small gym area (the treadmills and weights are in a small room at the back of the gym), it's probably not for you. I don't like crowds, but I've never found the class sizes overwhelming. The staff do a good job of making sure they aren't full.
- Some classes and instructors are better than others
Overall, I strongly recommend this gym to women who live or work in the area.
