Found Tarbell's on Yelp - we really didn't know any restaurants near where we were staying and liked what I saw in reviews and pictures. Made reservations for same day - within an hour and because it was Thurs night, we were able to get it. Probably wouldn't work on a Fri/Sat!
The food was delicious, the service impeccable. And Mark Tarbell was such a gracious host, came to our table a couple of times - it was our anniversary and he wanted us to have dessert on the house.
The Summer bouillabaisse my husband had was wonderful, and my ribbon pasta with fennel chicken sausage was superb! We had their new menu item as a starter: grilled peaches, bacon, balsamic, etc. A WONDERFUL summer starter, light but what a great flavor combo!
All in all couldn't have asked for a better dinner with a great staff!
Only downside was when we actually ordered 2 desserts, that was 1 too much for 2 people - other portions were perfect, desserts are LARGE! But we couldn't decide between the classic chocolate mousse (YUMMY!) and the Bread pudding with Kentucky Bourbon sauce -so we ordered both. And both were outstanding - but TOOO BIG!!! OK so that's not really a bad thing!!!!
