| - Absolutely terrible stay.
We came to Toronto completely unprepared, and originally went for a different hotel that we ended up not choosing because it was in a very shady neighbourhood.
Then we thought: "hey, Marriott is always a safe bet on a nice hotel". Methinks not.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the receptionists who were not very welcoming, but OK. We had checked the price online, and the walk-in price was CA$ 100 higher for a double room. I know some hotels operate in this way, but this is the least customer-focused way of operating a business that I can think of. Anyways, after booking the room online and waiting a few minutes for the booking to come through, we got our room and went out to get some dinner.
When we came back to the room there was very bad intense smell, so we had to call the reception to get a new room. That room ended being so noisy it spoiled our sleep.
CA$ 18 for 24 hours wifi? Seriously? I just paid CA$ 300 for a hotel room? Come on - stop raping me.
In summary:
1. Had to leave the hotel to book online,
2. Had to get a new room because of smell,
3. Had no sleep because of noise in the room
4. Felt abused both service and price wise.
I have stayed at Marriott plenty of times, but I really hope this will be the last.
