My husband and I recently visited Madison from KCMO and this bar/restaurant was recommended as a good place to meet up for dinner and drinks with friends. We went in at 4:30pm on a Tuesday to see if they would be able to accommodate 6 or so people at 5:30pm. They said they don't take reservations but would see what they could do, and they did set aside a table for us. I really appreciated their accomodating us. I ordered the grilled ham and cheese. It was really thick with ham, and really greasy. There was a unique flavor I couldn't identify and the server told me it was a gourmet mustard. It was smoky/bitter. We had also ordered fried cheese curds for the table, and they are also pretty greasy (I guess what should you expect from "fried", right?) Husband had the fish tacos and they were delicious. I enjoyed my first taste of Spotted Cow beer. I would recommend the Tipsy Cow as a go to place for anyone visiting Madison.
