I was at the Fremont Experience enjoying the free entertainment and people watching and I saw a tattoo sign about halfway in.
I went upstairs past a bunch of flash art on the wall to check out the shop. The shop looked clean but that was all I could say was positive. After you walk in, there is a table of books with flash drawings inside. There were no real artists portfolios, just books of flash drawings and an iPad to look up tattoos. Um, I would like to see the artists "real work" and not a bunch of pictures copied off google. Workers at shop weren't the friendliest and i wasn't getting any good vibes from this place.
After being familiar with tattoos for a few years now, it's Super Important to look up the tattoo artists work to see if it's good or not. Ever go on instagram and see tattoo nightmares? You should. Never go to a shop where someone tells you to search up an image on their iPad because that is sketchy as heck.
Ask to see their artists' real work and if there is no portfolio, run away fast!
