| - Found it weird that they didn't ask for previous dentist information. They said they will ask if they ever needed it. But during my examination, when referring to an early decay, they mentioned they didn't know how my previous X-rays looked like. To me, I think my precious dental record would've been helpful for them.
Noticed that they didn't examine my gums with a probe nor scrape the plaque off of my teeth. My previous dentist did it for every visit. I wasn't given any eye protection (another thing I was given at my old dentist). It would've been helpful because I got splashed with water all over my face. The polishing wasn't done very well. There was rarely any contact with the tooth. It was only to apply the gritty paste. They did use that ultrasonic pick thingy, flossed, and applied fluoride.
I look forward to getting a deep clean every 6 months, but honestly, my teeth don't feel any cleaner than what I can do at home. I really wished that they scraped the plaque off. Asked my son and he said that they scraped his, but didn't floss him.
I did like that they discussed your payment while you're in the chair. Someone researches it based upon your insurance. They also have TVs mounted to the chair to distract you from waiting. It switches to a monitor so they can show you your X-rays without having to turn around to look at their computer screen.
It was on the colder side in there, but I did see a blanket on a chair that you could use.
Update: they adjusted the temperature of the room, offered me eye protection, and the remote to the television.
