This is a great trail to get acclimatized to the elevation. It's short, only two miles, but you climb about 1500 feet. I've used this trail several different ways, coming down from Mt. Charleston peak, from the north loop, it's taken me to the bottom (or start) of this trailhead. Most recently I used it to start the hike, and it connects to north loop, instead of continuing on, we went down Fletcher Canyon. This is how I usually start out the season to get used to the elevation. The two mile warm up is great, and then you get to scramble down Fletcher Canyon.
