I came the first time before this bad experience due to the "good"/ lucky reviews. My first time was last year with Kai and I mentioned to him what brought me to the salon and he was thrilled. I got an asymmetric bob haircut and it was lovely the first time, I went home happy and told myself when I was ready to get it done again I'll come back to Kai.
This second time around wasn't like the first, I got there and Kai was at the front counter ringing up a customer he had just worked on. A lady approached me and asked if I needed help, I told her "I am here for my 5:30 appointment with Kai" and she smiled and said "okay" so I assumed she understood me and I would have though Kai had heard me since I was in front of him so I didn't sign in. The client pays and leaves and Kai starts to roam around the shop and then sits down and goes his phone. I thought the lady who asked me if I needed help would had inform him that I was here but nope. Five minutes pass by and I decided to say something since no one was attending me. I tell him I am here and he continues to tell me " I thought you were already being helped, sorry" I shrug it off and say it is okay even know it pissed me off a bit. I understand that he doesn't remember ALL his clients - but if you don't remember a style that you done for a client; ask to see more photos or to elaborate more on the cut and style. I should him a picture of my hair (picture shown to him was the top picture with the bright green hair ) which was done last year he took a look and said "okay, I got it" so I put my trust him again to do what he did the first time thinking that he got it. Come to find out - he starts to cut and he has already cut one side way shorter then I wanted. Instead of asking first how short did I want it, and if where he wanted to cut was good enough. It was already too late - to make a long story short he cut my hair way shorter then he did the first time and I am NOT one bit happy with it. It is definitely not what I showed him and it is definitely not what I wanted. At the end I tell him it is way too short and that he did a better job the first time I came - I was so upset but didn't want get too worked up since I figured it is bad but at least hair grows back ( plus I am 7 months pregnant and didn't want to my nerves worked up ) I ended not tipping since I wasn't happy - was charged $40. I ended up going home ranting to my husband and eventually crying out of anger. The first picture with the bright green hair is last years cut with Kai and the bottom picture is the cut I got today that I hate so much, it makes me look like a soccer mom and that is definitely not the look I was going for. The cut is way too short, too choppy and it makes me look older then I wanted. I was so excited to get a haircut since it has been awhile and I wanted to treat myself - what a waste. I won't be coming back and I don't recommend this shop.
