| - I am torn about my review because while it's currently at a 2, that's probably generous and will most likely turn into a 1 given enough time. I would have started at a 4 two years ago, but it's only worse and worse the longer I stay. I am moving out soon.
Our truck was stolen from directly in front of our apartment. Management doesn't have any cameras anywhere in the complex or offer any help, and also charged us $50 to replace the "gate" remote for the gates that are never secure anyway. Later found out others had vehicles stolen at the same time, and yet no warnings were posted anywhere.
The police have been here so frequently that I really have begun to question whether it is safe for me to go outside alone in the mornings before work. Aside from the unsolved homicides that no one even warned residents about (murderer on the loose on foot for several days but no one was notified of the danger), there are also robberies and random crazies wandering, and seemingly this is just a matter of course for the office people. This morning 5 police cruisers were parked here at 5 am, for who knows what, and that isn't rare.
The pool looks great but is closed almost half of the days in the summer, either for maintenance or because the health department shuts it down. The bathroom facilities in the pool area were closed literally the entire summer, or unstocked with toilet paper when open, and never cleaned. I wonder why the pool gets contaminated? The fitness center is totally outdated, always hot, no water fountain, and giant glass windows that puts whoever is inside on display after dark. Creepy.
Recently they have begun removing the best part of the whole complex, the grassy areas, and replacing them with ugly rocks and cheap arrangements of shrubs. There is no place near my apartment to walk my dogs anymore, without traveling over the molten blacktop to the other areas. The dog-friendly advertising is the main reason I chose this complex but it is getting more and more unfriendly as the time passes.
The process of dealing with everything is very corporate and unreasonable, and the rent is outrageously high. I really don't know why I have stayed so long except that I hate moving.
I think maintenance is friendly and generally fixes everything within a reasonable time, but they totally overwhelm those guys and never have enough help for the main guys to get to everything. Definitely agree with the other reviewer that most of the appliances, plumbing, and other fixtures are well past their time and need to be replaced.
There is ample parking and most of my neighbors have been friendly and quiet. The complex itself is quiet and peaceful and the apartments have nice layouts. The neighborhood is super convenient and the on-site garages are affordable and pretty convenient if you need storage. The office people are usually polite, but not able to offer that much in the way of customer service because of the giant corporate attitude that pervades the whole place. They do allow actual dogs, rather than just chihuahuas, and that is the main thing that drew me to this complex.
If it weren't for the total disregard of tenant safety and security, I would be more interested in staying.
