| - I'm quite impressed. Very clever business model -- they work extremely efficiently, given what little space they have. Despite how many people are always in line here, the wait is fairly reasonable. They have you check-in when you first arrive, and they'll do periodic spot-checks to see who is still here and who just returned from a neighborhood walk. With that comes wonderful service -- the staff seem genuinely happy to be there. Service with a smile, really, and they were running about the organized chaos. I never saw any one staff member stand in one place for more than a few seconds, which is nice because it shows dedication to the business.
I ordered the salami scramble with potatoes and sourdough toast. I honestly think the best part of my meal was the toast -- crispy on the outside and soft in the center, serviced with some delicious strawberry jam (but it was fresh and tangy and flavorful!). I think I would have been crazier about the jam, but I'm weird and not huge on jam. I wish they had the option of butter instead. Anyway, the salami was almost too rich for me, but it paired well with the eggs, which were nice and fluffy. I also enjoyed the potatoes, though I thought they were a bit heavy on the rosemary, which actually surprises me because I like my food heavily seasoned. I had a bit of my fiance's chicken artichoke sausage, which was part of the special, and that was divine. The orange juice tasted like an orange in a glass.
A little pricey, but considering the quality of the ingredients you get (organic and local), I understand the markup.
Personally, the atmosphere isn't for me -- it's loud and clanky, but that's just my preference. Doesn't mean it's not a good restaurant or business. I just like it when I can have a conversation without raising my voice.
Great place, though! Definitely a place worth checking out.
