My fiancé has a family history of breast cancer that occurs in their 30's. She was proactive and did a self examination finding something in her right breast. Her PCP sent her over for a mammogram and ultrasound at Sun Radiology, who they're contracted with. The tests revealed nothing in her breast but a small mass in her left lymph node. The radiologist recommends an MRI, no biopsy. She does the MRI and conclude a small mass in her lymph node, but it's not malignant. No further testing recommended until she's 40. My daughter is a radiology tech for a reputable hospital said they would have never asked for an MRI. As soon as a mass was found they would have done a biopsy since you can't determine malignancy otherwise. My fiancé wasn't convinced the test results were accurate and asked for a second opinion. When she consulted with a different radiologist they asked her why did they ever do an MRI? As soon as the mass was found she should've had a biopsy ordered. Long story short, stay away from Sun Radiology. You have a choice, so if you hear this is where your doctor wants you to go, tell them no you want another to perform the tests.
