| - I had my first appointment here today for a consult regarding pain in my gumline. I was referred by a friend who loves it, the office was lovely & everyone seemed very nice, so I really wanted to like it. Short story: nice people, clean office, but very long wait time, I didn't see the dentist I made the appointment with & dentist I did see didn't seem particularly knowledgable.
Long story: My appointment was at 11am with Dr. Durisek, but I new I would have paperwork to fill out, so I made sure to get there by 10:45. It didn't make a difference, though, because after the paperwork was done, they left me sitting in the waiting room until 11:25. A pleasant dental assistant took me into a room, took an X-ray of my bothersome gum, then said the doctor would be in shortly... Apparently 30 minutes is "shortly" because that's how long I waited. Luckily they had a short video of a sea turtle on repeat on the tv to keep me occupied.
When the dentist came in (not Dr. Durisek after all, but an associate), he explained he couldn't really diagnose anything without more a history (I should note here that when I made the appointment, I gave the name & number of my previous dentist so they COULD have a history.) I asked about requesting my old X-rays, but then he said it probably wouldn't help anyway. Umm... what?!
So I was in the office a total of 80 minutes. Sat alone waiting for most of it, and when I actually got to see the dentist, I was told he didn't know what was going on & there wasn't really anything he could do. All in all, a disappointing experience. At least I did manage to get a referral for an endodontist, I guess.
