rev:text	I attended the Thursday evening production of Les Mis and this was my first time at Ovens Auditorium. The show itself was very good, with just one technical issue involving a mic not working after intermission, but it was quickly resolved. The quality of the production and performances was almost as good as I've seen in Chicago. I do have a MAJOR concern in that people were escorted to their seats after arriving late and after intermission concluded. I was shocked that this is the practice at this venue. Lights were not dimmed in the auditorium (although they may have been in the lobby) to make patrons aware that they should return to their seats. A group of women behind me were allowed to trickle in during the first song after intermission and they were giggling while trying to be seated. Another pair of patrons came in at the very end of the same song blocking my view. This is an incredibly disruptive practice and essentially spoiled my experience. There was also a couple of young people (high school or college aged) who talked through the entire first half. Although this was out of the control of those managing or working the venue, it saddens me that going to the theater is not what it used to be. I did ask the young man to refrain from talking during the second half, and he apologized and was quite for the remainder of the show. We are new to Charlotte and thrilled to get season tickets for the Broadway Lights series. I hope the remainder of our shows are of the high quality that I expect.
