Usually am mildly ok this place. But today really pissed me off.
I went in to trade in a couple of video games. To find that I'm second in line. Great! Except not great, because they decide to make us wait twenty minutes before anyone sees us as everyone is getting annoyed without explanation.
So I let it slide and go up to the counter. Only to find I left my ID at home. No problem, I figure. I have a passport ID. But then suddenly I get told I can't trade in without ID. I literally am wondering why that's a thing. I'm not paying for something with a credit card or anything that needs an ID.
So I give him the one I have.
He then proceeds to tell me he can't accept the trade because my ID is somehow not allowed. By that point I'm pissed. I have never had to use my ID other than to pick up my purchases with a debit card. And by now this guy has wasted about 40 minutes of my time to tell me I can't trade in my video games because I don't have a Drivers License.
The customer service here has always been pretty poor. But this was a new low for me. This has happened on top of a floor staff that practically seems to not care with one or two people who stand out as very nice and helpful.
That's fine though. I'll just remind myself next time to walk the extra five seconds to Gamestop who actually gives a damn and does their job as customer service represent ivies.
I'll never forget the day I went to get a Logan steelbook. And they literally let some woman who showed up last minute to bolt past the line they had to buy the only two copies.
I'm really done with the crappy customer service from the staff. Seriously, as someone who works in customer service, this place needs to greatly work on it.
A shout out to the Geek Squad and Online Pick Up crew here though. They are really nice and always helpful and attentive. And probably the only reason I'm giving this a three. I really appreciate how all of you seem to actually care and always seem to be the best employees in the store. You should be proud as you're typically the bright stars in a sea of annoyingness.
