Anyone who's grown up in Richmond Hill will likely have fond memories of this theatre. It's one of the larger ones in the area. It was previously owned by Famous Players but now Cineplex owns it. It's an incredibly average theatre by todays standards but when it opened (I'm not sure when my first memory of seeing a movie here was Toy Story 2 back in 1999), I'm sure it's large size was a game-changer in the area.
I rarely see movies in theatres, it's a pretty expensive night out when you factor in admission ($13 for general admission and $16 for 3D!!) and popcorn (like $10!). Once in a while I go when it's a movie I really want to see and is actually decent.
I typically go to an independent theatre (like the Carlton or occasionally The Royal downtown) or wait for a movie to come out on Blu-ray. I haven't been to this particular theatre in years but was here again recently to see The Peanuts Movie.
The theatres are clean and they screen every mainstream Hollywood film that's released every weekend. It's a massive multiplex with a small, somewhat ghetto but charming arcade near the front to kill a bit of time.
The screens are large and the chairs are comfortable enough. If you live in the area it's a decent theatre for a night out.
