  • Camelback KIA: shifty and crude people. What they did to me is unacceptable, unbelievable and certainly not what you would expect from a professional business. It's a long story, but shows you the shady character of this dealership. I negotiated with Bernard Carrington, David Johnson and eventually and ultimately with Cody Fair, a head manager. I purchased a used KIA Optima from them for a little under $12,000 when they originally were selling it for about $17,000. Obviously this is a great deal for me. They told me that their sales were a little low so they pushed the paperwork through and made the sale happen. I signed the final paperwork and everything was taken care of with their financial man (Terrance I believe). The car was officially MINE. A few weeks later I get a call from a man named Andrew telling me that I have to "come in and sign some finalized paperwork and you'll be all set." I go in and immediately David Johnson meets with me and demands the key from me very promptly and rudely might I add. I ask him if I can make a few phone calls and he rushes me through them and yet again persistently demanded I return the key to him. "Bro my boss is yelling at me we have to get this done I can't wait any longer." I asked for an explanation. He forced me to hand over the key before he gave me said explanation. "He seemed genuine in the past, maybe I can trust him," I mistakingly though. He took the key and proceeded to tel me that my credit didn't get approved with them. Funny thing is I called my buddy who works for Arizona Federal and he said my loan got approved and they were going to send KIA the approval in a few hours. "Great," I thought, "everything should work out then." I proceeded to wait in the lobby when Cody Fair called me back into his office. "Listen man I'm going to be honest with you the reason we can't do the sale is because we are losing too much money." He proceeded to hand me a piece of paper that stated that our deal was terminated. I tried convincing him that it was morally wrong to cut the deal off like that, especially when Arizona Federal is going to send Camelback KIA their money in just a few hours. NOPE. He basically showed me the door and implied that there was nothing I could do about it anymore. What I took away from this: after realizing that they had sold me the car for too little, they did everything they could to get the car back. We had signed all the papers and the deal was almost final but at the last second they pulled me into the dealership claiming that I just have some paperwork to finish and then forced me to hand over the key. They covered up their tracks. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE.
