I went here for Poutine Week. This place is pretentious as hell. I arrived only 30 minutes after they opened and I was alone, but it took more than 15 minutes just for me to be seated. Additionally it seemed like half of the tables here were reserved. I don't normally expect there to be reservations at a bar, especially before 6pm... WTF?
I placed an order for poutine and waited and waited and waited. I saw 15+ orders of poutine come out of the kitchen over the next 30 minutes and none of them were mine. After almost 40 minutes I asked the bartender what was going on (he wasn't the one that took my order, but I was sitting at the bar and I couldn't get the attention of the waiter). He came back and apologized and said that the waiter forgot to put my order in.
Okay, it happens. I'm patient. Not a big deal. But then I would expect to make up for it they would give me the next order that came out of the kitchen, but they didn't. I sat and watched another 10 orders of poutine come out and it still took over 15 minutes until I finally got mine -- an hour after I originally ordered it! That's seriously screwed up.
Last but not least, despite two of the bartenders and the waiter being completely aware of how much they totally screwed up my order, they never offered to comp my beer or only charge me half-price for the poutine which I feel would have been reasonable.
The atmosphere was nothing special either, in fact they were squeezing people in here like sardines. It was very loud too, so loud that everyone was screaming to talk to one another (which basically means everyone else just started screaming even louder). And the waitstaff appeared to be very overworked compared to the number of people they had to serve. Not a good experience!
Avoid this place like the plague!
