This review is based on their used lot: Be aware that the East side of Madison was hit with a storm recently!!!!!!! We were close to signing on a Silver 2014 Jetta SE sedan (roughly 36k miles/black leather) until we reviewed the final paperwork. We noticed a discrepancy in regards to paint/body not being up to spec, though it was acknowledged repairs have not been done. Upon closer inspection we noticed hail damage on the roof which we missed the first time. The General Manager, Bill Schmitz, was stellar but I did expect them to be honest and be better people in general instead of trying to hide the obvious.
Brian Baker, on the other hand, was not so pleasant. He wanted to rescind the first "free" oil change with purchase during negotiations. Cost to them for an oil change is next to nothing. Who does that?!
My assumption was that they hoped we didn't notice the hail damage so they can forgo the expensive dent/paint repair. I was set on purchasing one of the Volkswagen GTIs on the lot closer to year's end as well. They were the trim I wanted, 6 speed, and had the iconic plaid interior but I will never step foot there again!!!
